This Syrup Will Stop a Cough Dead in its Tracks – Ginger Thyme Cough Syrup

Thyme is a very effective and strong disinfectant, it can be used internally to prevent from infections and externally (as a wash). It is the best herbal cold remedy of all time, mostly it is used for treating an oral infection or a sore throat, and to prevent and help in the case of a flu or cold.

Ginger Thyme Cough Syrup

Ingredients:

  • A knuckle of ginger minced
  • 2 handfuls of fresh thyme
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of water
  • 3/4 cup of raw honey

Instructions:

Put water in a large pot, add the ginger and thyme and put them on heat. After it starts to boil, simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the raw honey too, and stir gently, let the syrup to rest for about 30 to 60 minutes, and after that you can strain it. Some people suggest you not to heat honey, so if you are down for that, do the same but add the honey after the syrup cools down, and after it is filtered you can store it in bottles or jars and keep it in your fridge.

Dosage:

Children 3 to 5 teaspoons, on daily basis

Adults 3-5 tablespoons, on daily basis
